Who we are

Kindernook Preschool was established in 1953 as a non-denominational outreach program of Countryside Community Church. Over the years, Kindernook has become a tradition for many families in the Omaha area. Our innovative curriculum and creative programming are the basis of our mission: to welcome children of all backgrounds, embrace the philosophy of learning through play, expand our interactions with the environment, and help children grow into the young learners they were born to be. When children are given the opportunity to explore in a supportive classroom environment they develop problem-solving skills, keen interest in particular areas, positive self-esteem, and the tools they need to thrive.

Kindernook is nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. We are one of only 14 NAEYC accredited preschools in Omaha. This is a rigorous process and we are proud to hold this honor.

Our bright and inviting classrooms are just a part of what Kindernook has to offer. Kindernook has a lending library, art room, access to an indoor activity center, and outdoor play space. In the outdoor play space, children can explore the water pump, sandbox, and greenspace. Kindernook also uses the Tri-Faith campus, which provides a garden, stream, pond, native plants, and more.

Kindernook’s biggest draw is it’s amazing teachers. All of our teachers are qualified; 7 of us have our Bachelor's or Master's degree and the others are qualified with over 1000 hours of classroom instruction time. We are all required to take continuing education classes each year; these classes help us keep up with current teaching strategies and gain new tools to use in the classroom. Our teachers set us apart from other preschools. We have very little turnover and we are all obsessed with making Kindernook the absolute best it can be. All 11 of us have had our own children go through Kindernook too.
